Tell us a snowmobile story: Up near Lac Edouard, Quebec we saw a Bombardier Antique Snow Coach rally. After viewing over 70 of them, we crossed the lake heading to Lac St. Jean. Half way to Lac Bouchette, the trail took an unfamiliar right hand turn when it should have gone straight.
After many miles, we stopped at a new sign that said 59 kilometers to Lac Bouchette. Well, my gas gauge had three-bars left. The trail must have been moved for logging.
Twenty-miles before the lake, two of us ran out of gas. We rode on the back of two Renagade 1200’s without a cushion. We then purchased a 5-gallon plastic gas can, filled it up, tied it on, and rode 20-miles back, filled up the two sleds and rode the 20 miles again.
We lost our hotel reservations and had to stay in a flea bag hotel at 20-below zero with poor heat!
Tell Us Something Most People Don’t Know: Bought first boogie wheel 1971 338 cc Sno Prince snowmobile in 1972 for $500.
Favorite riding area: Rivier du Loop area of Quebec, Bay St. Laurant area.
