The NH Grass Drags and Watercross is a three-day powersports extravaganza held annually by the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association on Columbus Day weekend in October. Also known in the snowmobile world as “The Grass Drags” or “Epping,” the Race Into Winter Grass Drags and Watercross is the premiere event for snowmobile enthusiasts and competitors.

Over 45,000 Attend NH Grass Drags and Watercross

The NH Grass Drags and Watercross is the Biggest, Baddest Snowmobile Event in the World. Considered the start of New England’s snowmobile season, over 45,000 snowmobile and outdoor enthusiasts turn out each year to watch some of the fastest snowmobile racers from the United States and Canada. The event starts on Friday at 2 PM and doesn’t end until 6 PM Sunday at Brookvale Pines Farm, 154 Martin Road, Fremont, NH.

NH Snowmobile Grass Drags

Some of the fastest snowmobiles in the world compete at speeds topping 121 mph, side-by-side along four lanes. If you have a favorite snowmobile brand, chances are you will have something to cheer about. Friday’s snowmobile grass drags features pro racing under the lights. The big guns come out Saturday and Sunday, with 0-60 times that would annihilate most supercars. Snowmobile race classes can include: Stock, Improved Stock 600cc – 800cc, Improved Stock 1000cc, Pro Stock 600cc – 800cc, Pro Stock 1000, Pro Mod, Heavy Mod, Open Mod and the mighty 4-Stroke Turbos.

Snowmobile Watercross Racing is a contact sport at the New Hampshire Grass Drags and Water Cross in Fremont Epping NH.

NH Watercross Racing

The NH Grass Drags and Watercross also feature watercross racing, also known as snowmobile water skipping. Yes, snowmobiles racing on water. NH snowmobile watercross competition includes straight line drag racing and the unique oval style racing on the pond at the center of the race facility. Hosted by the Eastern Watercross Association, race classes include 600,  800 and Amateur, Semi Pro and Pro. It’s fast, exciting, and yes, they do sink!

Rave-X Freestyle

Race into Winter is more than just racing. The nationally known Rave-X Freestyle team performs Winter X Games snowmobile freestyle stunts throughout the weekend. Jumping snowmobiles from massive ramps at amazing heights.

Rave-X snowmobile freestyle stunt show thrills racing fans at the NH Grass Drags and Watercross Races in Fremont Epping.

The Rave X team performs big air tricks, synchronized flips, heel clickers, superman, backflips and other gravity defying stunts. The performance can be seen from multiple areas on the race grounds but you may want to get to the stunt area early and get a good spot to shoot some mind boggling photos and video.

A Volunteer-Driven Fundraiser

It is the largest fundraiser for the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association and helps finance the efforts of the NHSA as well as over 100 participating clubs who maintain the trails you ride every winter.
