UPDATE: The bylaws were approved during the Special Meeting held April 28, 2018.
They are effective as of June 30, 2018.
The Board of Directors approved NHSA By-law revisions at the March meeting. The amended by-laws now need to be voted upon at a special meeting of the NHSA.
WHY THE REVISION?
A revision of the NHSA by-laws and the governing rules of business have been developed to comply with the agreement with the Attorney General’s Office. These changes have not been taken lightly – many meetings have taken place by the Executive Board along with multiple drafts of language being shared with legal counsel to get an acceptable and reliable document for the Association to be governed by.
SUPERIOR REFERENCE
A portion of the revised by-laws and rules of business were due to housekeeping. On advice from counsel, additional revisions removed ambiguities, allowing superior reference and smoother flow, resulting in a document that is easier to read and understand.
REVIEWED BY COUNSEL
The drafts below have been reviewed by NHSA counsel and the Attorney General’s Office. It is hoped that the membership can support these governing documents, which will enhance the functionality of the Association as a whole and allow us to better serve the clubs and the snowmobile community in New Hampshire.
CLUB DELEGATES
A special meeting to vote on the by-laws will be required. Clubs need to register their delegates in advance for the special meeting. The NHSA office will send instructions to clubs by email soon.
