Exciting news at the grass drag track for 2025, the return of amateur grass drag racing in NH!
On Sunday amateur and pro racers will be vying for the Roger Wright Memorial Cup. This will be a bracket type race. It will crown the winner with the Wright Cup, and reward driver’s skills with $5,000 in prize money.
How Bracket Racing Works
On Sunday, pro and amateur racers will take qualifying runs down the track to set a dial in time. There will be no classes, everyone will run together. When a racer gets to the starting line, their dial in will be entered into the computer. Racers with the higher dial in times will get a head start against their opponents.
Imagine a 400cc Trail Sled at the line against a 1000cc Open Mod sled. Believe it or not, the 400cc trail sled has the advantage. The amateur light turns green first, getting a head-start down the track. The open mod sled must patiently wait until his light turns green. It’s tough not to leave early and red-light while watching your opponent speed down the track.
At the same time, if the Open Mod leaves late it will not catch the 400cc sled. This is a true test of drivers with the advantage going to the all the amateurs out there!
Amateur grass drags racing in NH will be a fun and exciting race. You can bring your trail sled right off your trailer. You will have a great chance of winning. You can race and be competitive. You won’t have to spend a lot of time and money prepping your sled. And, there will be $5,000 in prize money!
It’s a great opportunity to grab some of your friends and give it a shot. Bragging rights and great prize money will be on the line!
