Snowmobilers Pack 2021 NH Grass Drags and Watercross

October 22, 2021 by Evelyn Ferrell

Snowmobile grass drag launches from startling in NH

The numbers are in for the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association’s Grass Drags and Watercross, Race Into Winter. Three gorgeous days of sunshine over Columbus Day weekend greeted excited spectators, shoppers, and racers to the event, just as the foliage was reaching its peak.

2021 NH Grass Drags and Watercross Attendance

Attendance on Friday set a record high, as over 7,000 snowmobile enthusiasts passed through the gates. Feedback from vendors, and brisk sales, affirmed that. Saturday was extremely busy the entire day and the parking lots filled quickly. Sunday was strong, matching previous years, with large crowds gathering around the Rave X show, watercross and drags, where an all-time top speed of 125.47 MPH in 500 feet was recorded this year.

A large crowd gathers along the NH Grass Drags as two racers launch from the start.

Total attendance for the weekend of October, 2021 was 46,500. A remarkable number considering that approximately 3,500 of our Canadian friends were not able to travel across the border to participate this year.

Thank You!

A heartfelt thanks go out to all who made this year a complete success: the vendors, racers, spectators, sponsors, volunteers, safety services, the town of Fremont, and the Brookvale Pines Farm. Plans are already underway for October 7-8-9, 2022.

Watercross experts entertained the crowds all weekend.

About Race Into Winter

The NH Grass Drags and Water Cross is the Biggest, Baddest Snowmobile Event in the World. Considered the start of New England’s snowmobile season, over 40,000 snowmobile and outdoor enthusiasts turn out each year to watch some of the fastest snowmobile racers from the United States and Canada.

Race Into Winter is a three-day powersports extravaganza held annually by the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association on Columbus Day weekend in October. Also known in the snowmobile world as “The Grass Drags” or “Epping,” the Race Into Winter Grass Drags and Water Cross is the premiere event for snowmobile enthusiasts and competitors.

Run By Volunteers

Club volunteers do an amazing job at the NH Grass Drags and Watercross.

It may surprise you to learn that one of the biggest snowmobile events in the world is organized and executed by volunteers.

It is the largest fundraiser for the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association and helps finance the efforts of the NHSA as well as over 100 clubs who maintain the trails you ride every winter.

The NHSA is a 501c4 non-profit organization. We appreciate your support and hope to see you in October!
