2019 Arctic Cat Snowmobiles

February 26, 2018 by NHSA

2019 Arctic Cat Snowmobiles

Alpha One is the main talking point for 2019 Arctic Cat Snowmobiles. Sure, it’s a mountain only rear suspension but it drives home the fact that Arctic Cat is dead serious about snowmobiles and 2019 is going to be a big year.

2019 Arctic Cat Alpha One Suspension

The new single-beam Arctic Cat Alpha One rear suspension took everyone by surprise, it’s unlike anything seen before. The center beam takes the flex-edge theorem to new heights. The rail is a long triangle box, with two hyfaxes supporting a specifically designed 15-inch wide Power Claw track, available in 154- or 165-inch lengths, with 3-inch lugs.

The weight savings adds up to 11 pounds but more importantly the flexibility allows the track to contour around the terrain, for superior traction and maneuverability. Those claiming to have ridden the prototypes are absolutely wowed.

M 8000 Mountain Cat Alpha One

The Alpha One will be available in the 2019 M 8000 Mountain Cat Alpha One on the Ascender platform. This is a single purpose sled.

The mountain specific rear suspension is not something you would ride on hard pack trails. Additional features include: 160 HP 8000 C-TEC2 engine with DSI, TEAM clutches, FOX FLOAT 3 QS3 ski shocks, FOX FLOAT QS3 front track shock and FOX FLOAT 3 QSL rear track shock, front-mounted heat exchanger, ice scratchers and ProClimb 7 G2 skis. Estimated dry weight is approximately 440 pounds.

Arctic Cat iACT Rear Suspension

Team Green did not forget their faithful trail riders. Many 2019 Arctic Cat snowmobiles can be had with the new iACT, on-the-fly electronic suspension, allowing the rider to select from three settings via push button controls.

Select soft, medium or firm from the handlebar mounted control, which then alters the ride quality delivered by the Fox Zero IQS gas shocks from cushy to trail banger.

A digital dash displays the suspension setting. If you’re someone who likes to adjust the suspension as conditions change from morning smooth to late afternoon whoops, iACT is for you. Adjust suspension comfort on the fly, without tools, right from the saddle.

iACT Specific Models

The iACT option will be available on select 2019 Arctic Cats, including the ZR LTD 6000, ZR 7000, ZR 8000, ZR 9000 and Thundercat. Look for the iACT label on the tunnel.

Magnetic Tether Switch and New Handlebar Controls

Many 2019 Arctic Cat snowmobiles get updated handlebar controls that are more user-friendly thanks to info displayed on the digital dash. You can now start the sled via a handlebar mounted start button that also serves as the reverse control. The tether is now secured by a magnet, making it simpler to connect.

There were also model specific tweaks, including a lowered Thundercat said to enhance top-end speed and stability. The Norseman and Norseman X blend utility with the sporting pretensions of the Next-Gen body panels, Team clutches, a long track and additional features that blur the line between work and play.
