You don’t like ginger snaps? Hmmm, I’ll get to that in a moment…

So, you have decided to get away with friends/family on a snowmobile outing, maybe even with your local club. Choices…where do you go? Follow the snow of course but if you have it in your back yard, why not just stay home and ride locally? Humor me for a moment, please.

Ride Local and Have Fun

A lot can be said about riding out your back door in your home town area. With all the talk about the costs of snowmobiling, this can save you a few bucks and you can still have a blast. One of the top benefits is that it saves all that travel time, not to mention packing and unpacking. And it supports your local trail system.

But it’s not the same, you say. It doesn’t have to be the same, just follow a few basic steps to make it special. Plan your ride and destination and decide on trailside cooking for lunch or a restaurant.

Prior to which:

• Turn off the ringer on your landline phone. If you were away you wouldn’t get the call anyway.
• Unplug the cable to the computer and TV. Enjoy the simple pleasures of camp life, conversation, cards, games, fire in fireplace or outside, and good desert.
• Put all the cell phones in airplane mode. You don’t need to hear “bing” or music from incoming calls, texts, Facebook, etc. You can still take pictures in airplane mode, so use it as a camera only.

You would be surprised how well this works. Have others join you for the event, invite them to sleep over at your home – It used to be called a sleep over. Join forces on cooking a great supper and desert. It’s all about creating the right environment.

How Do You Make Ginger Snaps?

And now for that moment I promised…The gooey goodness of a marshmallow sandwiched between two ginger snaps and microwaved under close scrutiny to create this delectable treat that will delight the taste buds.

Now that I got you salivating, you must be wondering how to make them? You can use regular marshmallows or caramel marshmallows. I suggest sandwiching one-half between the snaps. Place in the microwave and you will see the marshmallows grow. That is why you need to physically watch them.

After they expand, turn off the power. The marshmallows shrink as the moisture of the marshmallow is absorbed into the ginger snap, making a soft super cookie. How do you like ginger snaps now!
