NHSA Trail Sign Enhancement Program

Snowmobiles in New Hampshire ride past signs that are part of grant program.

NHSA is offering to assist clubs in need with a durable, modular trail signage option that will bring consistency to the trail system in New Hampshire for years to come.

Interested clubs should submit the form below no later than August 6, 2026.

The Trails Committee at the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association will select at least one club in need of a sign upgrades.

Selected clubs will be awarded a maximum of $5,000 for intersection signs.

NHSA will contact the winning candidates. They will supply the official sign template, which must be used. The process of procuring signs will then start. Delivery will be in the Fall and the winning club is expected to have them installed on their system for the 2026/2027 season.

The estimated cost to sign each intersection with high-quality durable aluminum signs is valued at $300. Signs are approximately $40 each. Clubs will need to provide matching funds for additional intersection signs, mounting hardware, and posts.

Clubs supply posts (wood or steel – see examples) and NHSA supplies the signs, within the grant amount. Clubs will acquire permission from all private and public landowners for the installation. State of New Hampshire – DNCR managed or owned properties, such as rail beds, state parks, and state forests will likely require changes to our sign format to meet the standards on those properties.

Signs will follow guidelines established by NHSA Trails Committee.

Submission period expired.
